SLOW MOVER

solo exhibition, Mint Art House, 2022

Slow mover connects to one’s personal life and how we move through it. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling left behind. If we haven't achieved certain goals by a particular time, society can make us feel we are behind the curve. What if this doesn't connect with you?

As one turns 30 and moves into a new decade, society has marked this age as full adulthood. You should know what you are doing, be ahead or on a good pathway with your chosen career, own a house, have a partner or be married, have a family or work towards starting one.

What if you don't want to follow this timeline, instead you have decided to take your time in making these big decisions. One may believe society is slowly moving away from this mindset and exploring a more gentle approach to life.

This latest body of work explores the act of slowing down and being present. Paying attention to one’s movement with gentle acceptance and mindfulness has led Georgina to find the flow within her art practice.
